The space

Warmth within. Winter beyond.

A timber-lined retreat frames the changing forest through tall bronze-edged windows. Daylight reaches deep into the room, while the proportions of each opening keep the atmosphere intimate.

The window is treated as part of the room, not simply a cut in the wall. Deep timber reveals, a pale floor and a generous seat establish a quiet place to watch the season. Opening elements are placed where ventilation and everyday use need them.
